Tuina Massage Full Body Relaxation & Dispersion Video on DVD - Bill Helm

Tui Na, one of the oldest known systems of therapeutic massage, originated in China around 2300 B.C. As one of the five major therapies of traditional Chinese medicine, Tui Na has evolved into a comprehensive, systematic healing practice that is still taught today at major Chinese medical colleges. Tui Na practitioners receive rigorous training, on par with that of acupuncturists and herbalists, and are highly regarded within the medical community.

Based on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) principles, Tui Na focuses on the channels and collaterals (meridians) and the flow of Qi energy throughout the body. By using specialized massage and manipulation techniques, Tui Na aims to harmonize the Qi, promoting natural healing within the body. This therapeutic practice incorporates hand and arm techniques to massage the muscles and tendons, acupressure to influence Qi flow, and manipulations to realign the skeletal and ligamentous structures (bone setting). Additionally, Tui Na often utilizes external herbal poultices, compresses, liniments, and salves to enhance the healing process.

Tui Na's straightforward approach targets specific issues, making it a great complement or alternative to Swedish massage. Its shorter duration treatments make it versatile for use in various settings—whether at home, in a clinic, office, or spa. Tui Na is beneficial not only for professional massage therapists but also for individuals seeking to improve their health and well-being. Its efficacy has been proven over centuries and remains a vital tool in therapeutic practice.
